In 2014, PTC celebrates 25 years of partnership with PTC/USER Inc. As part of the anniversary activities, PTC is showcasing some of the people who have made PTC and PTC/USER’s flagship networking and training event successful throughout its history.

Customer speakers, PTC product managers and instructors, attendees, and many others have brought countless tips, tricks and best practices to their peers and shared their expertise with event attendees. They are an essential part of each year’s event.

We are launching this series of interviews with:

Mike Brattoli, Global Product Development Process Management Administrator - PLM, Moen Incorporated

Q: When and where was the first PTC or PTC/USER event you attended?

A: I first attended the 1995 June conference in Orlando, Florida.

Q: Why did you attend?

A: My employer had invested in Pro/ENGINEER and we wanted to network with the user community in order to enhance the capabilities of our users while maximizing the value of the software in our environment.

Q: At how many PTC annual event(s) have you been a presenter?

A: I have been chosen as a presenter six (6) times and have attended 14 annual events. I have also participated as a panelist at two June events on the subjects of data migration, vaulting and software upgrades.

Q: What do you enjoy most about going to a PTC or PTC/USER event?

A: Being able to network with peers, service providers, vendors, and most importantly PTC product managers, has had a significant impact on my abilities with PTC products. It has allowed me to have direct access to decision makers within PTC and provided important answers from my peers concerning best practices, software modules and all areas of the product development process. I have participated in PTC/USER Technical Committees since 1996, and it has been invaluable in integrating the PTC solutions within our environment.

Q: What is the single-most challenging aspect of your job?

A: Staying current with applications and best practices while providing support for our internal user community.

Q: What would people be surprised to learn about you?

A: I used to work in the construction industry in Los Angeles (my father’s business) and met or worked on homes for a number of musicians and TV / movie stars – amazing what they look like without their makeup.
